  • 2026 Nationwide Permits Regional Conditions for Ohio

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo, Huntington, Louisville, and Pittsburgh Districts announce final regional conditions and water quality certifications for the 2026 Nationwide Permits in Ohio, effective March 15, 2026. These regional conditions provide additional environmental protection and ensure compliance with state requirements for activities authorized under the reissued Nationwide Permits published in the Federal Register on January 8, 2026. The regional conditions will remain in effect until March 15, 2031.

  • 2026 Nationwide Permits Regional Conditions for Kentucky

    Expiration date: 3/15/2031

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces the reissuance of 57 Nationwide Permits (NWPs) effective March 15, 2026, through March 15, 2031, along with Kentucky-specific Regional Conditions and Section 401 Water Quality Certifications. The Great Lakes and Ohio River Division approved Kentucky Regional Conditions on March 6, 2026. The Kentucky Division of Water denied 401 Water Quality Certification for eight NWPs (16, 17, 32, 38, 43, 44, 52, and 53), requiring individual certifications for projects under those permits.

  • 2026 Nationwide Permits Regional Conditions for Indiana

    Expiration date: 3/15/2031

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville, Detroit, and Chicago Districts announce the reissuance of 57 Nationwide Permits (NWPs) effective March 15, 2026, through March 15, 2031, for the State of Indiana. The Great Lakes and Ohio River Division approved Indiana Regional Conditions on March 6, 2026. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management issued Section 401 Water Quality Certifications for certain NWPs, while denying certification for others requiring individual review.

  • 2026 Nationwide Permits Regional Conditions for Tennessee

    Expiration date: 3/15/2031

    On January 8, 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) published a final action in the Federal Register (91 FR 768) announcing the reissuance of 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and one new NWP, as well as the reissuance of NWP general conditions and definitions with some modifications. One NWP was not reissued. These 57 NWPs go into effect on March 15, 2026, and will expire on March 15, 2031.

    Expiration date: 3/15/2031

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District, on behalf of all Illinois districts (Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, and Memphis), announces the reissuance of 57 Nationwide Permits (NWPs) effective March 15, 2026, through March 15, 2031. This notice provides Illinois-specific regional conditions, 401 Water Quality Certifications from IL EPA and US EPA Region 5, and Coastal Zone Management Act consistency determinations that become conditions of these NWPs for activities in Illinois waters.

  • Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact - Fairport Harbor Nearshore Placement Area, Lake County, Ohio

    Expiration date: 3/20/2026

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for establishing a new nearshore placement area for dredged sediment from Fairport Harbor federal navigation channels. The preferred 62.78-acre site is located approximately 2.3 miles west of Fairport Harbor's west breakwater and was selected to avoid impacts to a newly constructed pier at the existing nearshore area. Public comments are being accepted until March 20, 2026.
