    On January 8, 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) published a final action in the Federal Register (91 FR 768) announcing the reissuance of 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and one new NWP, as well as the reissuance of NWP general conditions and definitions with some modifications. One NWP was not reissued. These 57 NWPs go into effect on March 15, 2026, and will expire on March 15, 2031.

This notice provides Illinois-specific regional conditions, 401 Water Quality Certifications from IL EPA and US EPA Region 5, and Coastal Zone Management Act consistency determinations that become conditions of these NWPs for activities in Illinois waters.

    On January 8, 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) published a final action in the Federal Register (91 FR 768) announcing the reissuance of 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and the new NWP 60, as well as the reissuance of NWP general conditions and definitions with some modifications. NWP 56 was not reissued. These 57 NWPs will go into effect on March 15, 2026, and will expire on March 15, 2031

The Water Resources Development Act establishes a single-phase cost-shared study process that for each feasibility study undertaken, the district engineer will develop a detailed study schedule and notify the non-federal interests.
