PITTSBURGH -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District seeks community feedback regarding proposed changes to the Mosquito Creek Lake Master Plan and will host a 30-day public comment period from May 16 to June 15. The master plan update is modeled on previously collected-community feedback. It will affect the future management of the recreational activities and natural resource use at Mosquito Creek Lake for the next 25 years.

WHAT: Pittsburgh District will host a 30-day comment period to gather input from the public on proposed changes to Mosquito Creek Lake's master plan and environmental assessment-change analysis.
The public can view the revised 2022 master plan draft and associated environmental assessment and submit comments on the drafts at our website: https://www.lrp.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Mosquito-Creek-Lake/Mosquito-Creek-Lake-Master-Plan/.
A physical copy of the master plan draft and associated environmental-assessment documents are available at the Mosquito Lake State Park office at 1439 State Route 305, Cortland, OH 44410. In addition, comment cards and a comment box are available at the office for the public to submit feedback.
Physical copies of the draft documents are available at the Mosquito Creek Lake Resource Manager's Office kiosk at 2961 Warren Meadville Road, Cortland, OH 44410. In addition, comments can be submitted directly to the resource manager Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHEN: The comment period will open May 16 and close June 15, 2022.

WHY: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations require master plans to be periodically reviewed to meet public and environmental needs. The master plan guides the use of government-owned and -leased lands around Mosquito Creek Lake. Community input is critical to the master plan updates and will affect the management and usage of natural resources at Mosquito Creek Lake for the next 25 years.
