This Detailed Project Report (DPR) which includes a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) is being prepared by the Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to identify the viable recommended plan for providing streambank protection along the Elk River in Big Chimney, West Virginia, while minimizing environmental, economic, and social impacts. The integrated EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project and will be used to determine if an Environmental Impact Statement or a Finding of No Significant Impact is needed.

The Draft EA, dated October 2024 evaluates potential environmental impacts associated with sanitary sewer collection system improvements proposed for federal funding under the Section 571 program for the Kingwood Phase I Sanitary Sewer Project in Kingwood, Preston County, West Virginia.
