  • USACE to host Shallow Land Disposal Area public information session

    Pittsburgh and Buffalo districts’ staff will update the public on the project’s status, upcoming site activities, and other topics of public interest for the Shallow Land Disposal Area site. USACE and its partners will be on hand, before and after the formal presentation, at various display stations to allow the public to ask questions about specific aspects of the project.
  • USACE to conduct routine maintenance activities at Brookville Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be performing scheduled maintenance activities at Brookville Lake in Brookville, Indiana, starting November 18 through mid-December 2024. During this time, visitors may see construction equipment and crews on site performing the routine dam maintenance work, including weekends.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District plans to hold a public meeting at Volunteer State Community College October 24th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. to present the draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed Foxland Harbor Marina project. The public is invited to share feedback with the Nashville District team at this event.
  • Great Lakes Costal Wetland Revitalized on Ohio’s Lake Erie Shoreline

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District and City of Port Clinton celebrated the completion of construction on a five-year coastal restoration project with a final planting of native species on the beach. The $1.9 million Great Lakes Fishery and Ecosystem Restoration Program Port Clinton Coastal Restoration Project has expanded costal wetland – a rarity along Ohio’s Lake Erie Shoreline – by 1.4 acres, removed invasive plant species, and created a more diverse habitat for wildlife to thrive in and people to enjoy.

  • Wilson Lock main chamber closed until further notice

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and the Tennessee Valley Authority have closed the main lock chamber at Wilson Lock on the Tennessee River near Florence, Alabama to conduct additional inspections and possible repairs on the lock chamber. The lock chamber will be closed until further notice.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is monitoring expected heavy rainfall as the the remnants of Hurricane Helene are forecasted to move through the Cumberland River Basin beginning Friday, 27 Sept. and lasting through the weekend.
