TIONESTA, Pa. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is hosting the second-annual scarecrow-scavenger hunt during October at Tionesta Lake.
The lake staff invites the community to participate in the hunt that will last through Nov. 1.
Visitors can participate in the contest by finding and taking pictures with all five ranger scarecrows and submitting the photos to the Tionesta Lake page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TionestaLakeUSACE.
Scarecrows are hiding on the summit and plantation trails adjacent to the ranger office parking lot at 477 Spillway Road, Tionesta, PA 16353.
Additionally, the lake staff invites the public to submit name suggestions for “Baby Squatch,” the newest member of the Tionesta sasquatch family. Everyone can submit suggestions through Tionesta Lake’s Facebook page by commenting on the “Help Name Baby Squatch” post.
Participants grant the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permission and authority to use their pictures for promotional activities by submitting an entry. Additionally, the lake staff will post all valid entries to the Tionesta Lake Facebook page. Finally, participants should share photos and tag their friends and family.
The scarecrow-scavenger hunt winner will receive a small prize. The winner is selected based on the votes and likes the entry photo receives. Anyone who submits an entry for the scarecrow-scavenger hunt and the Baby Squatch name must be submitted by Nov. 1.
Lake staff will only accept family-friendly photos and name suggestions. Please do not vandalize, move or remove the scarecrows or sasquatches for any reason.
