Corps to host virtual public meeting for Former Camp Sherman Artillery Range

Louisville District
Published May 18, 2021

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District (USACE) is proposing to clean up munitions associated with the former Camp Sherman Artillery Range Munitions Response Site in Ross County, south of Chillicothe, Ohio. The Remedial Investigation determined that munitions contamination identified at the site poses an unacceptable risk from explosive hazards to current and future receptors.

The USACE invites the community to attend a virtual public meeting to learn more about the site and proposed cleanup plan on Wednesday, May 19, at 6:00 p.m. Meeting details, including login information, can be found online at: https://go.usa.gov/xHEjD

The public is encouraged to review the project documents available in the public record and submit comments on the Proposed Plan, which can be found at the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library and will be available online at: https://go.usa.gov/xHEjD. Please provide comments by email to FUDSLRLPublicComments@usace.army.mil by June 30, 2021. Written comments may be submitted to: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Louisville District, Attn: Rachel Williams, CELRL-ED-E Rm. 351, 600 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Place, Louisville, KY 40202.
