Smith Springs Recreation Area closes for winter season

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (Oct. 29, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is closing Smith Springs Recreation Area at J. Percy Priest Lake starting Monday Nov. 3, 2025, through March 2, 2026, for maintenance during the winter season.

Soo Locks Visitor Center announces seasonal closure

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District will close the Soo Locks Visitor Center in Canal Park for the season at 7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Lillydale Day Use Recreation Area closing for repairs

ALLONS, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Lillydale Day Use Recreation Area, to include its picnic and swimming area on Dale Hollow Lake, is temporarily closing for maintenance and repairs starting Sept. 15, 2025. The closure is expected to last for several weeks.

Nolin River Lake recreational facilities impacted by high water

As the recreation season approaches, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District is providing an update regarding USACE-managed recreation areas at Nolin River Lake in Bee Spring, Kentucky, as it pertains to the recent high-water event. Nolin River Lake is working to assess, clean, and repair recreation facilities affected by spring flooding. Old Hickory Beach traffic pattern changes May 1

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (April 25, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is implementing a new traffic plan beginning May 1 for the Old Hickory Beach Day Use Area at Old Hickory Lake. The park staff plans to use a new fee both location and roundabout to better manage traffic flow at the intersection of Burnett Road and the beach and shelter area.

Mount Morris Dam and Recreation Area Welcomes Visitors for 2025 Season

The William B. Hoyt II Visitor Center at the Mount Morris Dam and Recreation Area opens to the public Thursday, May 1 for its 2025 visitor season. Located on the Genesee River next to Letchworth State Park, the dam provides flood protection to downstream communities, including the City of Rochester, as well as a place to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation for the 73rd year.
