  • Rockland Recreation Area Boat Launching Ramp improvements begin Aug. 16

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has announced temporary closures for the Rockland Recreation Day Use Area boat ramp on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee, due to parking lot repaving. As part of ongoing December 2023 tornado recovery efforts, the boat ramp and parking facilities will be closed to all traffic from August 16–21 and again from August 23–24, 2026. Boaters are encouraged to utilize nearby alternative access points, including Walton Ferry, Mallard Point, and Sanders Ferry Park, while crews safely mill, pave, and stripe the lot. For additional updates or facility questions, visitors can contact the Old Hickory Lake Resource Manager’s Office directly at (615) 822-4846.

As dedicated natural resource professionals, they manage 3,800 miles of shoreline and offer diverse outdoor activities across 350,000 total acres of land and water. This celebration highlights their unwavering commitment to preserving public lands and protecting natural resources for future generations.

  • USACE seeks proposals for Challenge Cost-Sharing Cooperative Management Agreement for Barren River Lake’s Tailwater Campground Recreation Area

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is seeking proposals from Non-Federal Public Entities to enter a Challenge Cost-Sharing Cooperative Management Agreement (CCSCMA) for the purpose of co-managing recreational sites with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The recreational site under consideration is located at Barren River Lake and includes the Tailwater Campground in Allen County, Kentucky.

  • USACE announces new management of Pikes Ridge Recreation Area at Green River Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of the Pikes Ridge Campground recreation area at Green River Lake near Campbellsville, Kentucky. Effective March 1, 2026, Pikes Ridge Campground Recreation Area will be managed under a lease agreement with Common Capital RE Holdings LLC, with BrightSky Campgrounds overseeing day-to-day operations and reservation services on behalf of the lessee.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of the Cave Creek recreation area at Rough River Lake near Falls of Rough, Kentucky, for the 2026 recreation season. Effective March 1, 2026, Cave Creek Campground will be managed under a lease agreement with Common Capital RE Holdings LLC, with BrightSky Campgrounds overseeing day-to-day operations and reservation services on behalf of the lessee.

  • USACE announces new management of North Fork recreation area at Rough River Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of the North Fork recreation area at Rough River Lake near Falls of Rough, Kentucky, for the 2026 recreation season. Effective immediately, North Fork Campground will be managed by Brightsky Campgrounds.

  • USACE announces new management of Wax Campground recreation area at Nolin River Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of the Wax Campground recreation area at Nolin River Lake in Grayson County, Kentucky, for the 2026 recreation season. Effective immediately, Wax Campground will be managed by Wax Marina.
