Our rangers in the Muskingum Area are hard at work restoring pollinator habitat to bring more bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators to our public lands. Winter is a great time to seed native wildflowers and grasses so they are ready to grow as soon as spring arrives.

Our rangers in the Muskingum Area are hard at work restoring pollinator habitat to bring more bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators to our public lands. Winter is a great time to seed native wildflowers and grasses so they are ready to grow as soon as spring arrives.

Though it may be difficult to imagine while there is still snow on the ground, warmer weather will soon transform the landscape from bare lawn grass to a thriving wildflower meadow ideal for wildlife. Look for pollinator habitat signs here at Atwood Lake and the many other U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sites in the Muskingum Area to witness the transformation for yourself.
