Marker highlights historical relevance of navigation lock
Operators show a damaged portion of the lower end of the river wall at Lock 2 on the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee, May 20, 1937. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District built Lock and Dam 2 at this location to establish a navigation channel. The structure was later replaced by today's modern dams. (USACE Photo)
