Nashville District tames Cumberland River with the 'Old Locks'
A Derrick arrangement is in the pit during the construction of Lock 4 Oct. 26, 1894 on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. The lock and dam were constructed to establish a navigation channel. The lock and dam were replaced by today's modern system of dams.
