    Reed named employee of the month for time-saving permit action

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2024) – A junior civil engineer who rapidly researched requirements for a permit action for general construction and storm water management is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Employee of the Month for June 2024.

    Following an internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jennifer Linebaugh knew she had to come back and work in a role that she found fulfilling. With a dedication to care for the environment and a desire to make a difference, Jennifer's determination to return to USACE has placed her with the Buffalo District and a position where she is doing more and making that difference. Jennifer spoke with us about her new role and what she enjoys the most.

    Employees highlight careers at Antioch Middle School STEAM event

    ANTIOCH, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2024) – Employees showed off their displays, provided demonstrations, and highlighted their careers last week during a sanctioned Tennessee STEAM Festival event at Antioch Middle School. Sixth, seventh and eighth graders learned about opportunities to pursue careers with the Corps of Engineers that require studies focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

    Colonel lauds Center Hill Powerplant administrative assistant

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (Aug. 26, 2024) – An administrative assistant at Center Hill Dam received high praise last Thursday for her exceptional work during a developmental assignment well beyond the dam and powerplant she normally supports on the Caney Fork River.

    Agreement kicks off streambank project at Carthage Wastewater Treatment Plant

    CARTHAGE, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2024) – Officials signed a Project Partnership Agreement today to officially begin a streambank stabilization project on the Cumberland River that will prevent further bank erosion that currently endangers the Carthage Wastewater Treatment Plant.

    Officials recognize dynamic couple that spent decades supporting navigation

    LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 16, 2024) – Gary and Judi Fleeman recently culminated a combined 51 years supporting navigation missions together on the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. When they decided to retire together, Corps officials made it a point to thank and duly recognize this dynamic couple for their tremendous impact and many years of service.

    Cadets visit Nashville for engineering, construction, operations insight

    NASHVILLE Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2024) -- People come visit Nashville from all over. They come for any number of reasons, to see a sports game, to celebrate an event or even to hear some country music. But in the case of four engineering cadets with the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, they are in Nashville to see the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and to get insight of engineering, construction, and operations missions the district supports in the Cumberland River and Tennessee River basins and an area of operations encompassing parts of seven states.
