The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

(Sept. 8, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Lillydale Day Use Recreation Area, to include its picnic and swimming area on Dale Hollow Lake, is temporarily closing for maintenance and repairs starting Sept. 15, 2025. The closure is expected to last for several weeks.

The park staff plans to use a new fee both location and roundabout to better manage traffic flow at the intersection of Burnett Road and the beach and shelter area.
