  • Corps of Engineers announces updates to Center Hill Water Control Manual

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 24, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District completed an Environmental Assessment (EA), under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), to update the Center Hill Dam and Reservoir Water Control Manual. As a result of this update, the Nashville District is implementing operational changes at Center Hill.

  • FY25 President's Budget designates $155 Million for Nashville District Projects

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 21, 2024) – The President’s Budget for fiscal year 2025 includes more than $7.2 billion in discretionary funding for the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with just over $152 million set aside for Nashville District Operations and Maintenance projects.
  • Dodson Chapel Access Area closing at J. Percy Priest Dam

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 21, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Dodson Chapel Access Area below J. Percy Priest Dam is closing 7 a.m. Monday, March 25 through Friday, April 5, 2024, while crews work to remove vegetation along the roadway to improve visibility and to enhance public safety.
  • Updated Lake Cumberland Shoreline Management Plan released

    SOMERSET, Ky. (March 20, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the release of the 2024 Lake Cumberland Shoreline Management Plan. This plan is a critical element to how the Corps manages more than 1,000 miles of shoreline created when Wolf Creek Dam impounded the waters of the Cumberland River, creating Lake Cumberland.

  • NR 23-40: Corps reminds public of brief drawdown of Old Hickory Lake

    HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2023) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District reminds the public of a previously announced brief drawdown of Old Hickory Lake from late October through late November to assess the condition of the shoreline adjacent to Corps operated recreation areas, as well as perform maintenance in recreation areas.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 11, 2023) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the area below Cordell Hull Dam known as the Right Bank Tailwater Recreation Area is closing today for 90 days while construction work is underway to stabilize the rock bluff below the dam.
