The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, and its contractor, Dean Marine & Excavating, Inc., are scheduled to resume repairs of the Rochester Harbor east pier, located in Rochester, New York, in April 2021.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has awarded a $6.5 million contraGreat Lakes Dock and Materials, L.L.C. for the construction of a beneficial use of dredged material placement area designed to handle approximately 400,000 cubic yards of dredged material.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to resume Great Sodus, Charles Point Repairs
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District and its contractor Michigan-based Great Lakes Dock & Materials, L.L.C will resume repairs the first week of April 2021 to the east breakwater in Great Sodus Harbor, located in Sodus Bay, Village of Sodus Point, Wayne County, NY.

Luckey FUSRAP Site hits Milestone Trifecta
The Luckey FUSRAP site hit three major milestones with the site clean-up Feb. 23. The milestones were the trucking subcontractor completed safely travelling over 1 million miles disposing 116,667 tons of contaminated material at US Ecology in Belleville, Michigan; the remediation contractor finished loading contaminated soils excavated under their current contract into roll-off containers; and the first roll-off container was filled with building debris from the deconstruction of the maintenance office building.

USACE Buffalo District releases FY20 Flood Damage Reduction Report
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District flood damage reduction projects prevented $137.9 million of flood damage in New York and Ohio during Fiscal Year 2020 and prevented approximately $4.25 billion in cumulative damages over the life span of the projects.

USACE Buffalo District receives $140.5 million in FY21 Work Plan
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District received a total of $140,542,000 in the Fiscal Year 2021 Work Plan to complete projects across the District’s area of responsibility. This includes the $34,405,000 the District had already received in the Fiscal Year 2021 President’s Budget.

USACE Buffalo District to occupy the Hens & Kelly Building in downtown Buffalo
The General Service Administration has awarded a contract to lease space in the historic Hens & Kelly Building – currently the Mohawk Building, allowing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District offices to relocate the main district office.

Northwestern Water & Sewer District Receives Section 594 Assistance from USACE for the Sugar Ridge/Mercer Road Sanitary Sewer Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, entered into an agreement in December 2020 with the Northwestern Water & Sewer District to provide almost $1 Million assistance toward the total costs of sanitary sewer upgrades in the Sugar Ridge/Mercer Road area of Wood County in northwest Ohio.
