The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

  • Corps of Engineers to hold annual Industry Open House in Chicago

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District will hold its annual Industry Open House on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois.

  • USACE announces last pass for right-of-way debris pickup in Graves County

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, in coordination with FEMA, is announcing the last pass for debris pickup along the right of way in Graves County, Kentucky. Contracted personnel will begin making the last pass tomorrow, March 1. The last day to place storm-related debris on the curb for pick up is Sunday, March 13.

  • USACE Chicago District releases for public comment draft master plan for three USACE facilities

    The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District (USACE) released for public comment the draft master plan for three U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities: Mississinewa, Salamonie, and J. Edward Roush lakes; and integrated draft Environmental Assessment (EA). The project limits for the integrated master plan and EA encompass all Corps-owned property at each of the three lakes. USACE is accepting comments on the draft master plan and integrated EA through March 7, 2022.     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 17, 2022) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is ending its initiative for a public-private partnership to lease Cook Recreation Area at J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, Tennessee.

  • USACE Buffalo District Announces 2022 Operations Schedule for Black Rock Lock

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District is announcing the Black Rock Lock operations schedule for the 2022 navigation season. The Black Rock Lock is one of three lock systems operated and maintained by USACE on the U.S. side of the Great Lakes and saw more than 2,600 vessels and 60,000 metric tons of commerce pass through its walls in fiscal year 2021.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and City of Buffalo Celebrate Protection of Critical Infrastructure at Ralph Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District and the City of Buffalo celebrated completion of the new seawall at Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park during a ceremony today. The $10.6 million project included repairs to over 1,300 feet of seawall. The seawall protects one of Buffalo’s most critical pieces of infrastructure, the Col. Francis G. Ward Pumping Station, and one of its most popular recreation spaces, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, from flooding.

  • Scenarios product provides insight to potential future water levels

    DETROIT- Using historical data similar to recent conditions, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Future Scenarios product illustrates Great Lakes’ water level variabilities. “The tool allows us to investigate the different meteorological or hydrological conditions impacting the Great Lakes basin and how it affects water levels,” said Detroit District Watershed Hydrology Section Physical Scientist Deanna Apps. “You may find this product helpful to better understand the variability in water levels that could occur under certain scenarios.” Apps, who is also a lead water level forecaster explains the scenario-based tool that is publicly available on the Corps of Engineers’ website in the sixth ‘On the Level’ video, available on the Detroit District’s YouTube page at: https://youtu.be/Jyl8RkNBIy0.
