    Raptivist Muneer says it takes wearing a life jacket to ‘Be Alright’

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2022) – In a public service announcement featuring his new song “Be Alright,” the Artist and Raptivist Muneer Gonsalves tells fans that wearing a life jacket when boating or recreating in the water will help keep them afloat and safe when visiting Corps Lakes.

    Adcock receives Distinguished Civilian Employee Recognition Award

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 24, 2022) – Linda Adcock, who managed the Center Hill Dam Safety Rehabilitation Project before retiring in 2019, received the Distinguished Civilian Employee Recognition Award today highlighting exceptional achievements with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District.

    Civil engineer lauded for plan development on dissolved oxygen project

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2022) – Elizabeth R. Boeglin, civil engineer in the Engineering and Construction Division, is the Nashville District Employee of the Month for June 2022 for plan development and design work in support of the Wolf Creek Dissolved Oxygen Improvement Project.

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 17, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing technical services and managing construction of the Mountain Home National Cemetery Expansion Project, which will add 6,365 burial and cremation plots, plus eight columbarium units with 3,140 niches for veteran internments.

    Lake Cumberland landmark officially named ‘Sid Bell Falls’

    WATAUGA, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2022) – A popular landmark on the shoreline of Lake Cumberland will forever be known as “Sid Bell Falls,” the namesake of its landowner when the Corps of Engineers purchased it during construction of Wolf Creek Dam in 1943.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 29, 2022) – The senior operator at Cordell Hull Dam Powerplant is the Nashville District Employee of the Month for May 2022 for actions taken to avert power outages in several rural communities in Kentucky and Tennessee.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 30, 2022) – The system of dams and reservoirs in the Cumberland River Basin provide flood risk reduction, hydropower generation, navigation channels, and recreation benefits. It also provides a reliable water supply source for over 70 municipal and industrial users, as well as hundreds of private users.
