Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

    Deputy chief of construction and engineering to retire after 41 years

    After dedicating 41 years to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Deputy Chief of the Construction and Engineering Division Jeffrey Fritz is deciding to retire. His four decades of service certainly made an impact – so much so that his colleagues described him as a “walking Wikipedia on all things Corps of Engineers.”

    Residents who reside along the 981 miles of the Ohio River and its tributaries are no strangers to severe weather. The risk for flood in these areas increase when a location experiences heavy rain, the area has poor drainage or the soil composition is dense. Flood fight training is one way the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville district prepares for these severe weather events.

  • USACE breaks ground on modern vehicle maintenance facility at Fort Campbell

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers broke ground on a $30.5 million tactical equipment maintenance facility, June 29, 2022, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The 36,000 square-foot project will be the first new modern-design field-level vehicle maintenance shop built at Fort Campbell since 2014.
  • Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators participated in the TWRA Operation Dry Water press day to inform the public of heightened TWRA and Coast Guard presence on Tennessee water ways over the July 4th weekend. The press conference was held at J. Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, Tennessee.

    TWRA kicks off Operation Dry Water for July 4th Holiday Weekend

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 1, 2022) – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency held a press day at J. Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, Tennessee to spread the word about Operation Dry Water, before the upcoming 4th of July weekend. ODW, a national awareness and enforcement campaign focused on reducing the number of alcohol and drug-related incidents and fatalities on the water, will take place from July 2 to July 4. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District hosted the event at Priest Lake.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 30, 2022) – The system of dams and reservoirs in the Cumberland River Basin provide flood risk reduction, hydropower generation, navigation channels, and recreation benefits. It also provides a reliable water supply source for over 70 municipal and industrial users, as well as hundreds of private users.
