USACE announces plan for Brookville Lake operations during 2024 solar eclipse

Vehicle access to the Tailwater Recreation Area and Vista Road will be restricted to all but official law enforcement, emergency response, fire department and US Army Corps of Engineers vehicles from Friday, April 5 through and including Monday, April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse.

During this period walk-in visitors are welcome in these areas.

The Overlook Recreation Area and parking area will be open for day use as usual.

Visitors are reminded to always observe posted restrictions and Title 36 regulations governing public use of US Army Corps of Engineers recreation areas. Rules and regulations include:

- No camping in day use areas or boat ramps areas at Brookville Lake.

- Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, be attended at all times, and pet waste must be bagged and properly disposed in waste receptacles or removed from the park.

- Fires are prohibited except in cooking grills provided in the parks, and during periods when no local fire bans are in effect.

- Vehicles are required to follow all state and local regulations, and park only in designated asphalt parking areas where and at times permitted.

- Litter and waste must be picked up and removed from the park or placed in designated waste receptacles.
