  • USACE to conduct routine maintenance activities at Brookville Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be performing scheduled maintenance activities at Brookville Lake in Brookville, Indiana, starting November 18 through mid-December 2024. During this time, visitors may see construction equipment and crews on site performing the routine dam maintenance work, including weekends.

  • USACE announces the update of the Cecil M. Harden Lake Shoreline Management Plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District has updated the Shoreline Management Plan for Cecil M. Harden Lake located in Rockville, Indiana. The Cecil M. Harden Shoreline Management Plan has been updated due to USACE assuming sole responsibility of the program, which was previously managed in coordination with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
  • USACE hosting public workshop for Patoka Lake Master Plan Update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is in the process of updating its 1974 Master Plan for Patoka Lake located in Dubois, Indiana.
  • USACE announces plan for Brookville Lake operations during 2024 solar eclipse

    Vehicle access to the Tailwater Recreation Area and Vista Road will be restricted to all but official law enforcement, emergency response, fire department and US Army Corps of Engineers vehicles from Friday, April 5 through and including Monday, April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse.
  • Tailwater Construction Wrapping-Up

    The construction work that has been taking place over the past few years at Salamonie Lake is in its final stages of completion. This work was performed to prevent further erosion in the retreat channel and to build a service road for future maintenance needs. The service road will not be open to the public for vehicular traffic, although it will be open for pedestrian & bicyle traffic. The public will be able to access the road from the Salamonie State Forest parking area at Homney Ridge and roadside parking where allowed. The new staircase on the East side will provide a safer path down from the parking lot of the tailwater recreation area.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River Division is hosting our annual Industry Day event both virtually and in-person at the Marriott River Center in Covington, KY on December 1, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.
  • Brookville Dam temporarily closed to public access due to construction activities

    Portions of the dam recreational area at Brookville Lake, Brookville, Indiana, are temporarily closed to public access while contractors are performing some improvements. To ensure public safety during upcoming construction activities, some public access points will be temporarily closed effective today, March 3, 2021. These intermittent closures will affect vehicular and pedestrian traffic on top of the dam as well as entry points to the Adena Trace hiking trail.
