COUNTY-STATE:  Owen County, Kentucky. | APPLICANT:  The Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources Stream and Wetland In-Lieu Fee Program | PROJECT PURPOSE: To provide aquatic (stream) and vegetative habitat restoration, enhancement, and preservation within the Lower Kentucky River Service Area.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Red Oak Creek ABD Restoration Project (LRL-2018-00770) would include re-establishment, rehabilitation, enhancement, and preservation of approximately 41,223 linear feet of perennial, intermittent, and ephemeral streams and associated riparian habitat with wetland re-establishment.  The project is estimated to generate 19,943 net stream Adjusted Mitigation Units (AMUs)(credits) and 2.4 wetland AMUs.  The project site would be permanently protected through implementation of deed restrictions administered by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  All incompatible uses, including mineral extraction, would be prohibited. The ephemeral, intermittent and perennial streams are tributaries to Stillwell Branch and Tributary 1, which are tributaries to the Rolling Fork.  The Rolling Fork is a Traditionally Navigable Water (TNW).
