Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) on the effects associated with a proposed environmental infrastructure project located in the Village of Lemont, Illinois

The Draft EA considers three alternatives to improve water supply infrastructure in the  area. The recommended plan includes replacing existing 8-inch water main with 8-inch ductile iron water main along Walter Street between Weimer Avenue and Peiffer Avenue, replacing existing 8-inch water main with 8-inch ductile iron water main along Peiffer Avenue between Walter Street and Warner Avenue, and replacing existing 6-inch water main with 8-inch ductile iron water main along Glenys Drive between Hillview Drive and Alpine Lane

The 30-day public review period will be held from February 16, 2024, through March 16, 2024. As part of the public review period, USACE would appreciate any comments or concerns associated with any potential effects to environmental and cultural resources of the proposed action.     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District has conducted an environmental analysis in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended. The draft Environmental Assessment (EA) dated April 2024, for the Town of Cicero, Illinois water distribution improvements addresses water distribution upgrade opportunities and feasibility in the Town of Cicero, Cook County, Illinois. The proposed recommendation is contained in the draft Letter Report, dated April 2024.

  • Buffalo South Breakwater Finding of No Significant Impact & Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District has assessed the environmental impacts of the subject project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 and has determined a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The attached draft Environmental Assessment (EA) dated April 2024 addresses the USACE repair of the Buffalo South Breakwater (BSBW) located at the City of Buffalo, Erie County, New York at the mouth of the Buffalo River on Lake Erie. The repair of the BSBW would facilitate continued safe navigation that would benefit the associated commercial and recreational users of Buffalo Harbor.

  • Nashville District seeks public input for revision of 1998 Wolf Creek Dam and Lake Cumberland Water Control Manual

    To All Interested Parties: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District (USACE), is initiating scoping under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to evaluate potential impacts of the proposed revision of the 1998 Wolf Creek Dam and Lake Cumberland Water Control Manual (WCM). The Wolf Creek WCM comprises pertinent project data, background information, the plan for day-to-day and emergency water management, and the effects of the plan on authorized project purposes.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is co-hosting a public meeting at 6 p.m. on April 8, 2024, along with the applicant, Foxland Harbor Marina, LLC, to provide further information regarding the proposed Foxland Harbor Marina Project on Old Hickory Lake in Sumner County, Tennessee. The location is the Foxland Event Center located at 1445 Foxland Boulevard in Gallatin, Tennessee.

The USACE, Buffalo District plans to repair the Buffalo CDF #4 West Perimeter Dike in the City of Buffalo, Erie County, New York. Buffalo CDF #4 is located at the southern end of Buffalo Harbor adjacent to the South Entrance Channel (Figure 1).

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is submitting a Regional Review Plan Consistency Certificate and Transmittal Memorandum to the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) for the Section 531 North Jackson Water Improvements in the City of Jackson, Breathitt County, Kentucky, to certify that the project falls under the Environmental Infrastructure (EI) Programmatic Review Plan. This Programmatic Review Plan applies to the review of all EI decision and design documents within LRD for the following EI authorities: Section 154, Section 313, Section 340, Section 531, Section 569, Section 571, and Section 594.
