Oconto, Wisconsin -- Project Description and Background
Serves as a shallow draft harbor primarily serving recreational users. Project depth is 15 feet. Approximately 4,800 feet of federal navigation channels.
There is 2,144 linear feet of sheet pile and timber crib pier structures
Maintenance dredging is required infrequently. The harbor was last dredged in 1992. Maintenance dredging is currently required.
This project is a harbor of refuge that serves recreational navigation interests. The harbor community has established infrastructure around the harbor facilities that generates income from harbor users and visitors to the area.
Current Status
Available funds will be used to perform real estate activities required for the management of out grants, real property holdings, agreements, and rights of entry.
Additional funds could be used for sediment sampling, characterization, and analysis in support of future channel maintenance
