Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

    Officials dedicate North Murfreesboro Greenway extension

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2023) – A long overdue wastewater project is underway to provide a sanitary upgrade for the National Park Service Blue Heron Mine Area at the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area near Stearns, Kentucky.

    DECATUR, Tenn. (Jan. 24, 2023) – The Nashville District’s Maintenance Support Team onboard the Motor Vessel Iroquois is repairing the needle-dam-girder beam slot on the downstream end of Watts Bar Lock on the Tennessee River.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2023) – Park Ranger Andrew Harrell, natural resource specialist intern at J. Percy Priest Lake, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for September 2022. He is recognized for his quick thinking, leading to the rescue of two swimmers in distress at Cook Recreation Area.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 6, 2023) – Boaters are invited to visit booth 002 at the Nashville Boat Show in Music City Center to meet with park rangers who are familiar with Corps of Engineers lakes, dams, locks, recreation areas and campgrounds in the Cumberland River Basin.

    Brothers build careers on parents’ employment legacies

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 23, 2022) – The Lee brothers are trailblazing dual careers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. But they are also building on the employment legacies of their parents, who both retired honorably and set an endearing example of service for their sons.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 13, 2022) – Sixteen U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employees graduated from the 2022 Supervisory Training Program in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 7. The program is designed to train employees for leadership positions within their departments and foster relationships with members of partnering departments for cohesive collaborative work.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, Military/IIS Project Management Branch Chief Rachael Haunz and Scott Air Force Base Area Engineer Jay Fowler provided an overview of the military construction program during a District Officer Introductory Course held at Scott AFB, Illinois, Dec. 9. Participants included mid-career officers, warrant officers and civilians across the enterprise who received their first assignment with the USACE.
