    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has issued Regional General Permit 24-RGP-01 for a period of five five years, to authorize existing floating cabins (defined at 18 CFR § 1304.412, and means a floating cabin that was located or moored on the Tennessee River System as of December 16, 2016) and associated maintenance for which the Applicant has obtained a valid Section 26a permit in certain Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Reservoirs within the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia.

    This Special Public Notice announces the decision of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago, Louisville, Memphis, Rock Island, and St. Louis Districts (Corps) to accept and expend funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation to expedite processing of their Department of the Army (DA) permit applications. This decision follows a previous public noticed issued by the Chicago, Louisville, Memphis, Rock Island, and St. Louis Districts on July 23, 2024, that solicited public comment on the aforementioned funding arrangement.

    Huntington District and Pittsburgh District has re-issued the Regional General Permit (RGP) for Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. This RGP is effective and available for use within the entire State of West Virginia and may be used by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) or an approved contractor working on behalf of the WVDEP, any non-profit 501(c)(3) watershed organizations or their subsidiaries, the West Virginia Conservation Agency (WVCA) and their respective Soil Conservation Districts, and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR), to authorize projects associated with AML and acid mine drainage (AMD) that require the discharge of dredged and/or fill material into waters of the U.S.

    This notice announces the nine-month testing and comment period for the Louisville District Corps of Engineers Stream Resiliency and Sustainability Review (SRSR) Tools. The purpose of the SRSR Tools is to streamline the review of stream compensatory mitigation projects. Projects proposed for authorization in accordance with Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) that require compensatory mitigation, in accordance with the April 10, 2008 “Compensatory Mitigation for Losses of Aquatic Resources” (“Mitigation Rule”)(CFR Vol. 73 No. 70, p 19670-19705 (33 U.S.C. 401 et seq.; 33 U.S.C. 1344; and Pub. L. 108-136), are covered by this announcement. This announcement applies to the Louisville District’s Regulatory Area of Operation within Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.

  • West Virginia Public Notice: LRH-2012-00147

    In accordance with Title 33 CFR § 325.5(c)(1) as published on November 13, 1986, in the Federal Register, Volume 51, Number 219, the district engineers of the Huntington District and Pittsburgh District United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), have re-issued the Regional General Permit (RGP) for Stream Restoration Activities to the West Virginia Conservation Agency (WVCA), with modifications, pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (Section 10) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (Section 404). This RGP is effective and available for use within the entire State of West Virginia by the WVCA to authorize WVCA-sponsored projects that require the discharge of dredged and/or fill material into waters of the United States and/or work within navigable waters of the United States to alleviate hazards to life and property resulting from sudden watershed impairments.

    In accordance with Title 33 CFR 325.2 (e)(l)(i) the Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh, is issuing this Public Notice for the construction and maintenance of recreational boat docks along the Ohio and Monongahela Rivers in the State of West Virginia. Structures authorized under this Letter of Permission are limited to those used by individual landowners or their assignees for non-commercial purposes.

    Pittsburgh District has identified several common additional informational needs specifically among permit applications for commercial and industrial (i.e., nonprivate use) facilities, and wishes to inform the public that the following items are required for processing all permits for commercial or industrial facilities consisting of work or structures within the previously designated navigable waters of the District, and/or that propose the discharge of dredged or fill material into Waters of the U.S. within the District, effective immediately.

    Reissuance of Programmatic General Permit for Minor Activities in Indiana. The districts revised the PGP by 1) adding the construction of 20 linear feet or less of new concrete, vinyl, or steel sheet piling seawalls under Category 1 Activities, and 2) by removing concrete, vinyl or steel sheet piling, or broken concrete seawall materials under Category 1 for new shore protection on rivers/streams and placing these materials under Category 2 Activities for new shore protection.
