  • Shenango Soaring: Army Corps invites bird enthusiasts to fifth annual Eagle Fest

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District, in partnership with the Shenango River Watchers, will host the fifth annual Eagle Fest at Shenango River Lake, Jan. 11.

  • USACE Nashville District awards contracts for Old Hickory tornado recovery

    Near the one-year anniversary of the EF-2 tornado that severely damaged Old Hickory Lock & Dam and the Rockland Recreation area on Dec. 9, 2023, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has awarded two contracts to rebuild and restore facilities affected by the tornado.

  • USACE announces new management of select day-use areas in Green River Area

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of day-use areas at select sites for the 2025 recreation season at the following lakes in the Green River Area, which includes Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Barren River Lake in Glasgow and Nolin River Lake in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky.

  • Smith Springs Recreation Area to close for winter season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District will close Smith Springs Recreation Area on J. Percy Priest Lake on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, and reopen the park on Monday, March 3, 2025.

(May 22, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is pleased to announce the full restoration and reopening of the Rockland Recreation Area launch ramp at Old Hickory Lake, marking a significant milestone in recovery efforts following the closure caused by an EF3 tornado Dec. 9, 2023.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 9, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the area below Cordell Hull Dam known as the Right Bank Tailwater Recreation Area has reopened to the public following construction work recently completed to stabilize the rock bluff below the dam.

  • Corps of Engineers announces new traffic plan for Cook Recreation Area

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 7, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces operational changes to Cook Recreation Area at J. Percy Priest Lake. Park staff will use electric gates, traffic cones and newly constructed roundabout and entrance station to manage traffic flow and parking.
