SAEGERTOWN, Pa. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will temporarily close the dam crest-access road at Woodcock Creek Lake for maintenance and improvement work.
The road will close Oct. 22 at 7 a.m. and reopen Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. The work area begins at the entrance to the dam crest at 22079 State Highway 198.
The work involves milling and repaving the roadway from the parking area to the swing gate, as well as near the maintenance facility. Visitors should avoid the construction site while work is ongoing.
Visitors can continue using the Bossard Nature Area and main dam site parking lots. All other recreational facilities, such as day use areas, remain open.
