Cheatham Lock helps fuel Middle Tennessee in wake of pipeline shutdown
The Motor Vessel Jess A. Mollineaux out of Nashville, Tennessee, is positioned with empty Marathon Petroleum Company fuel barges May 21, 2021 just upstream of Cheatham Lock in Ashland City. They were being moved downstream headed back to refineries in Texas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District worked with the fuel industry and Regional Rivers Repair Fleet, which is performing maintenance at the lock, to schedule openings to accommodate movement of fuel barges through the lock.
