The Pittsburgh District recruits to fill positions in a variety of career fields, to include engineers, project schedulers, program analysts, lock and dam operators, maintenance workers, contract specialists, engineer techs and park rangers. There is no military service requirement to join the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The majority of the 700 employees who work at the Pittsburgh District are employees, and approximately half have never served in the military.
