Eleven days after the locks opened, April 4, 2014, the first commercial vessel arrived to kick of the 2014 navigation season. Here the Cason J. Callaway, followed closely by the John G. Munson approach the Poe Lock. It took the convoy 9 days to cross Lake Superior with the assistance of the several icebreakers.
