Craig Carrington serves as the Deputy District Engineer, US Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District. In this position, Mr. Carrington is responsible for directing water resource activities of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers throughout the Cumberland River Basin, and navigation and regulatory matters in the Tennessee River Basin, an area of more than 59,000 square miles. This includes 49 field offices touching seven states and a work force of over 800 federal employees. As the Deputy District Engineer, Craig serves as the senior civilian in the District. In this capacity he carries out the District Commander’s intent in the execution of USACE authorities and missions in the Nashville District. He is responsible for project management activities, budget development, budget defense and monitoring and reporting program execution. He oversees project managers, project planners, program analysts, economists, archeologists, biologists, and project controls. His office manages projects in Corps authorities including flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, ecosystem restoration and support to other federal agencies such as the National Park Service, Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense.

Craig has served the Corps in multiple capacities for over 22 years including as a project manager, Emergency Response Mission Manager, Chief of Programs, Chief of Plan Formulation, Chief of the Planning Branch and Deputy for Planning, Programs and Project Management Division. He has deployed to the Gulf coast after Hurricane Katrina, Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, and Germany in support of Military Construction where he managed construction in Israel, Germany, Poland, and Norway for NATO.

Craig received his Bachelor of Science degree in History and Master of Science in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Tennessee. He is a Certified Project Management Professional and a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Certified Water Resources Planner. Craig is a Tennessee native who lives in Franklin, TN with his wife Melissa and two children: Anna and Baker.
