    Employees garner Army Safety Guardian Awards for lifesaving actions

    Nashville, Tenn. (Jan. 22, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District recently recognized four employees with Army Safety Guardian Awards for providing aid to a lock operator suffering from life-threatening anaphylactic shock from multiple yellowjacket wasp stings while working at Old Hickory Lock on the Cumberland River in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

    Corps upgrades Paden City’s wastewater treatment systems

    Ever had a problem with the septic tank in your yard? The cost to replace it, and consequences if you do not, can really stink – even more so when the problem is on a community-wide level. That is why the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is partnering with Paden City to upgrade the sanitary sewer collection and treatment facilities in Tyler and Wetzel counties as part of a $2 million environmental infrastructure project.

    USACE military program director tours Louisville District projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Director of Military Programs Dr. Christine Altendorf conducted a two-day site visit of reserve and military construction projects at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, Dec. 2-3, 2021. The first part of the visit began at the USACE Great Lakes and Ohio River Division headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, to discuss the benefits of a centrally managed military construction program and how the Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program will affect future USACE projects.
