    Adventure awaits as camping season returns to Cumberland River Basin

    Nashville District employees receive Star of Life Awards

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 6, 2026) – In a ceremony marked by gratitude and somber reflection, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District commander presented "Star of Life" awards yesterday to seven employees whose quick thinking and decisive actions saved lives at three Cumberland River dams in 2025.

    Park rangers respond to drownings by promoting water safety

    Raptivist Muneer says it takes wearing a life jacket to ‘Be Alright’

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2022) – In a public service announcement featuring his new song “Be Alright,” the Artist and Raptivist Muneer Gonsalves tells fans that wearing a life jacket when boating or recreating in the water will help keep them afloat and safe when visiting Corps Lakes.

    Region recognizes J. Percy Priest project on its 50th birthday

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 29, 2018) – Community leaders and citizens celebrated the 50th Anniversary of J. Percy Priest Dam and Reservoir today, acknowledging the project’s positive impact on the region since President Lyndon B. Johnson dedicated it as a perfect example of the new conservation 50 years ago.

    Country Music Artist Tanya Tucker recently partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to produce a public service announcement encouraging her fans to wear their life jackets. She had her first hit, "Delta Dawn", in 1972 at the age of 13. Over the succeeding decades, Tucker became one of the few child performers to mature into adulthood without losing her audience, and during the course of her career, she notched a streak of Top 10 and Top 40 hits.
