    Lake Cumberland landmark officially named ‘Sid Bell Falls’

    WATAUGA, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2022) – A popular landmark on the shoreline of Lake Cumberland will forever be known as “Sid Bell Falls,” the namesake of its landowner when the Corps of Engineers purchased it during construction of Wolf Creek Dam in 1943.

    New patrol boat enhances Lake Cumberland visitor assistance

    LAKE CUMBERLAND, Ky. – (Aug. 8, 2022) – Park rangers at Lake Cumberland are better equipped to assist and educate visitors and enforce regulations with the purchase of a new patrol boat with enhanced capabilities.

    Resource manager recognized for promoting water safety

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 2, 2022) – The resource manager at Lake Cumberland and Laurel River Lake in Kentucky is recognized for promoting water safety, spearheading public outreach activities and several marketing campaigns that reached more than two million people in eastern Kentucky.
