As the recreation season approaches, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District is providing an update regarding USACE-managed recreation areas at Nolin River Lake in Bee Spring, Kentucky, as it pertains to the recent high-water event.

Nolin River Lake is working to assess, clean, and repair recreation facilities affected by spring flooding. Based on current conditions, we are adjusting our anticipated opening schedule as follows (subject to change):

Campgrounds:
• Moutardier Campground will open as previously advertised, May 23. However, the following sites/facilities will remain closed.
o Campsites A30 – A44 (Planned opening date is June 13)
o Campsites D28 – D36 (Planned opening date is June 13)
o A-Area restroom (Closed for 2025 season)
o All showerhouse facilities will be open.

• Dog Creek Campground will open as previously advertised, May 23. However, the following sites/facilities will remain closed.
o Campsites C5-C12 (Planned opening date is June 13)
o Camper only swim beach. (Open date to be determined as water levels recede)

• Wax Campground will remain closed until at least June 27. Flooded roadways and infrastructure make it impossible to fully assess the areas and conduct cleanup and repair.

Day Use:
• Dog Creek Day Use Area will open this week, prior to May 16.
• Moutardier Boat Ramp is open.
• Moutardier Picnic Shelter Restroom has received structural damage and will not open in 2025. The shelter will not be reservable during 2025, but can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.
• VanMeter Boat Ramp will not be usable between May 14 -21as the water becomes too shallow on the turn around area. As the water continues to fall, it will be opened as soon as conditions allow.
• Iberia Day Use area will remain closed until June 13.

If opening dates for campgrounds or individual campsites need to be extended beyond the above dates, we will make every effort to provide notice 5 business days prior to a visitor’s arrival.
All reservations affected by these closures will be automatically canceled and fully refunded by Recreation.gov. If a camper’s reservation bridges across the opening date, they will receive an email that informs them of this and requires further action or their reservations will be canceled.

We appreciate your patience and remain committed to providing further updates as more information becomes available. For updates visit Nolin River Lake’s Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/Nolin.River.Lake
