Johnson County Section 202 Flood Risk Reduction Project Public Meeting

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District is conducting a public meeting to update the community on the construction of the Johnson County Section 202 Flood Risk Reduction Project Monday, April 14, 2025, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Country Music Highway Museum, 100 Stave Branch Rd, Staffordsville, Ky. 41256.

The Johnson County Section 202 Flood Risk Reduction Project is intended to reduce flood risk for the city of Paintsville, Kentucky. This Flood Risk Management (FRM) project will implement solutions to protect the City of Paintsville from recurring flood events.  This meeting is designed to update the community on the construction and address any questions.

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
