USACE announces public review period for Cave Run Lake Master Plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has updated its 1984 Master Plan for Cave Run Lake located south of Morehead, Kentucky, and in Rowan, Morgan, Menifee and Bath counties. 

A Master Plan is the document that conceptually establishes and guides the orderly development, administration, maintenance, preservation, enhancement, and management of all natural, cultural, and recreational resources of a Corps water resource project.

The final draft Master Plan and Environmental Assessment for Cave Run Lake is available for public review at: https://go.usa.gov/xzmpT.

Comments and questions can be submitted by email to caverun.masterplan@usace.army.mil. The public comment period will be open until April 22, 2022.

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
