The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Greenup Auxiliary Lock Closure Limits Recreational Lockages

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District announces an unscheduled Auxiliary Lock closure at Greenup Locks and Dam on the Ohio River in Greenup, Ky. This closure will limit recreational boat lockages from April 1, 2025, until October 30, 2025. It will not impact commercial traffic.

During this timeframe, Greenup Locks will only lock recreational craft in the main lock chamber at approximately noon and 4 p.m. unless traffic patterns allow additional lockages.
