Corps Signs Partnership Agreement for Water Treatment Plant Upgrades
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District has entered into a more than $3.3-million project partnership agreement with the city of Chester to complete upgrades to the city’s water treatment plant. The partnership agreement is the first step in the rehabilitation of the raw-water intake system at the city’s water treatment plant. The upgrades include replacement of the water intake system, installation of new electrical control equipment, and rehabilitation of portions of the water distribution system.

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
