The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in exempted or excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Corps of Engineers releases interim aquatic nuisance species report to Congress for the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study

Today, USACE released the GLMRIS 90-Day Interim Report, sent by the Secretary of the Army, Civil Works, to Congress, Oct. 4. This interim report outlines anticipated milestones, required resources and a plan for the completion of the GLMRIS Report, which will evaluate a range of options and technologies to prevent the transfer of aquatic nuisance species between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins by aquatic pathways, by December 2013, as required by current legislation.
