Samantha Banchstubbs.
 
What is your official job title? 
Financial Specialist.
 
What section/department do you work in?       
Resource Management.
 
How does your job fit into the USACE mission?
I make sure people are paid correctly and on time so that they can continue to deliver the mission!
 
How long have you worked for USACE?
Five and a half years.
 
What has been your favorite part of working here?
The people!
 
If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
Probably a photographer for a magazine.
 
Before working here, what was an interesting job you had?
I worked for a lighting company in California installs the street lights up on all of the California. There’s A LOT that goes into those lights!
 
What is your hidden talent?
I can wash, dry, and fold 8-10 loads of laundry a day. (not kidding)
 
You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why?
Betty Grissom, Neil Armstrong, and my Dad - I would love to know what being a part of the space race was really like! And I didn't get enough time with Dad so one more dinner would be amazing!
 
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Fly a plane! My dad and uncle both had their pilot's license!
 
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza!
 
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I do a lot of volunteer work with the Daughters of the American Revolution, spend lots of time playing with my cat, and  I love to help people get organized.
 
What is the last movie you watched?
Goodfellas.
 
What is your personal philosophy/mantra?
It is what it is! 
 
If you were stuck on a desert island but your food and water were already taken care of, what two things would you bring?
My cat and a radio (you never know!)
 
What type of music/artists/bands are on your current playlist?
I'm into country right now, summertime means country music!
 
What was the last gift you gave someone and why?
I gave my husband a 1960s reproduction Timex watch for his 30th birthday
 
What is your favorite quote? Why?
If it's not going to matter in 5 years, don't let it bother you for 5 minutes - I like to keep a clear and calm mind!
 
What are three things on your bucket list?  
See Alaska, take my mom to Europe, and MAYBE skydive.
