  • The Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center is committed to providing a welcoming experience for all visitors. Our facilities are wheelchair accessible and we strive to accommodate any special needs. Please contact us in advance if you have specific requirements.

Admission:

  • Admission to the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center is free, making it an affordable and engaging destination for families, students, and history enthusiasts.
  • Pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals. 
  • Weapons, drugs, alcohol, food and drinks are not allowed. 

America the Beautiful Passes:

  • Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center issues the National Park passes at our information desk. Please be aware that we only accept checks or money order for payment.

  • Explore the history of the Great Lakes Navigation System through interactive exhibits and immersive displays.

Hours:

The Visitor Center is currently open Thursdays-Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on Wednesdays. 

Parking:

  • Convenient public parking is available in the downtown Canal Park area, seasonal fees are applied to all public parking via kiosks. 
  • The closest public parking lot is only 100 feet from the Visitor Center and next to the park.
