The total cost of the USACE supported cost share for this project was $1.33 million, of which our local sponsor, the Village of Chauncey, provided a little more than $333,000.

The project’s Sponsor include: the Village of Chauncey, the Citizens of Chauncey, the Buckeye Hills Regional Council, the Ohio Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance, the Ohio Department of Development, the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership.

The Section 594 Program stemmed from similar environmental infrastructure programs in eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. In the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) 1999, Congress provided authority for water related environmental infrastructure and environmental restoration projects for the entire State of Ohio.
