  • Corps provides regulatory info for Tennessee flood response

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has released a fact sheet aimed at assisting the public in navigating permitting requirements during the recovery process in the wake of Tropical Storm Helene in East Tennessee.
  • USACE Louisville District Regulatory Division to host community listening session

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District will host an informational community listening session on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (EDT) at the McAlpine Locks and Dam Training Center located at 2700 Marine St., Louisville, KY 40212. All partners, stakeholders and the public are invited to attend to learn more about the USACE Regulatory Program.
  • USACE and NYSDEC issue Tropical Storm Debby Emergency general permit

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo and New York Districts and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation have activated the joint permit New York State Programmatic General Permit (NYSPGP-1) for select counties impacted by Tropical Storm Debby, August 9-10, 2024. NYSPGP-1 permit offers one application for the purpose of complying with both agencies’ authorities over rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, and wetlands, and ensures that environmental approvals necessary for response to widespread storm events are expedited. When activated following major storm events, NYSPGP-1 authorizes activities to facilitate the recovery and restoration of damaged properties, projects, aquatic resources, and infrastructure.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is seeking public comment to evaluate the permit application submitted by Micron New York Semiconductor Manufacturing LLC (Micron), with the comment period closing July 1.
  • NYS general permit now available: Expedited response after major storm events

    The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have issued the first State Programmatic General Permit (NYSPGP-1), which authorizes activities to facilitate the recovery and restoration of damaged properties, projects, aquatic resources, and infrastructure following major storm events. NYSPGP-1 ensures important environmental safeguards and encourages best management practices while agencies work to bring infrastructure back online and retore quality of life for communities quickly, and without unnecessary reviews. This permit will also help project sponsors and the public obtain any Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursements they may be eligible for following specific storm events that are declared federal disasters.
