Lieutenant Colonel Joshua P. Bost assumed duties as the Deputy Commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River Division in August 2025.
A native of Starkville, Mississippi, LTC Bost was commissioned in 2005 through the ROTC program at Mississippi State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.
Throughout his career, he has held a variety of leadership and staff positions at every echelon from platoon to combatant command. He most recently commanded the 70th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 11th Airborne Division.
LTC Bost has deployed four times in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. His assignments include service as a platoon leader with the 172d Stryker Brigade in Mosul, Anbar, and Baghdad (2005–2006); Battalion S4 with the 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division in Diyala (2008–2009); Division Engineer Plans Officer with the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters in Kandahar (2011); and Company Commander with 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division in Paktika Province (2013).
His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College, the Advanced Military Studies Program, and the U.S. Naval War College. He holds graduate degrees in Public Administration from Webster University, Military Arts and Sciences from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and National Security Strategy from the U.S. Naval War College.
