COUNTY-STATE:  Larue and Nelson Counties, Kentucky.  | APPLICANT:  The Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources Stream and Wetland In-Lieu Fee Program | PROJECT PURPOSE: To provide aquatic (stream) and vegetative habitat restoration, enhancement, and preservation within the Salt River Service Area..

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Rolling Fork Restoration Project (LRL-2020-00630) would include re-establishment, rehabilitation, and riparian enhancement of approximately 9,419 linear feet of intermittent and ephemeral streams. Additionally, the project includes enhancement of approximately 62.7 acres of wetlands, preservation of approximately 12.0 acres of wetland, reestablishment of wetlands on an additional 42 estimated acres.  The project is estimated to generate 3,606 net stream and 68.3 wetland Adjusted Mitigation Units (AMUs) (credits).  The project site would be permanently protected through implementation of a conservation deed restriction on land owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  All incompatible uses, including mineral extraction, would be prohibited.  The ephemeral, and intermittent streams are tributaries to the Rolling Fork River.  The Rolling Fork River is a Traditionally Navigable Water.
