The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District prepared a Draft Detailed Project Report with Integrated Environmental Assessment (DPR/EA) and unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to evaluate potential effects of constructing streambank stabilization along the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN to protect wastewater infrastructure.
The Report evaluates the No Action Alternative (no construction of stabilization measures) and several alternative structural measures including riprap placement to top-of-bank, placement of an offset riprap berm, installation of gabion baskets, and replacement and relocation of utilities. Placement of an offset riprap berm is the Tentatively Selected Plan. We request comments be sent by email to sidney.b.riddle@usace.army.mil no later than December 29, 2025.
