Expiration date: 10/10/2024

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District has completed a draft feasibility report for the Ohio Riverfront - Cincinnati, Ohio (Phase 2) in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is now available for public review. The Louisville District is working in coordination with the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County to help improve and revitalize the Ohio River’s edge at Smale Park along the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati.

A USACE feasibility study involves assessing problems and opportunities related to water resources, coming up with alternative solutions to address those problems, comparing those alternatives and, ultimately, recommending the alternative that makes most sense.

The draft report includes a draft Finding of No Significant Impact Statement, Draft Feasibility Report with an integrated Environmental Assessment. Appendices for the report include engineering, environmental and cultural resources, cost, economics, real estate and climate assessments. The Feasibility Report includes the identification and evaluation of alternatives, and the recommendation of which alternative is proposed as the solution to improve the riverbank along Smale Park.

The draft report can be viewed at: https://www.dvidshub.net/publication/issues/71973

USACE Louisville District welcomes public feedback. Inquiries should be directed to LRL-Public-Comments@usace.army.mil with Ohio Riverfront in email header. Comments regarding the feasibility study are due by Oct. 9, 2024, and will assist in the agency’s evaluation of the project’s formulation and tentatively selected plan. All comments will be reflected in the project record.
