  • Blasting suspended at Louisville VA Medical Center construction site in interest of public safety

    In the interest of public safety, blasting on the site of the Louisville VA Medical Center has been suspended indefinitely following an unforeseen incident at the construction site today. During the blasting as part of earthwork on the site, fragments of sediment and rock landed on I-264, “Watterson Expressway,” and onto adjacent properties causing damage. There were no injuries reported and local law enforcement responded.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District awarded a $91,250,000 contract today to American Bridge Company for the Center Hill Dam Spillway Gates Replacement Project.
  • NR 22-22: Contract awarded for Wolf Creek Dam Spillway Gates Replacement Project

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District awarded a $109,450,000 contract yesterday to American Bridge Company for the Wolf Creek Dam Spillway Gates Replacement Project. The project is fully funded by the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022.
  • USACE and Great Lake States Execute Great Lakes Coastal Resiliency Study Cost-Share Agreement

    During an historic event, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the eight Great Lakes states signed a watershed study cost share agreement, initiating the Great Lakes Coastal Resiliency Study aimed at protecting the immense economic, environmental and social value of the Great Lakes coast.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will waive day-use fees typically charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on Saturday, Sept. 24.

  • Dredging to being at Sandusky Harbor: Notice to all boaters

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District awarded a $1,372,000 contract to Michigan-based Luedtke Engineering to conduct dredging of the federal navigation channel in Sandusky Harbor and will begin on September 18 through mid-October.
  • NR 22-19: Camp Attrahunt Boat Ramp closing for Poker Run

    SOMERSET, Ky. (Aug. 30, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Camp Attrahunt Boat Ramp, including its parking lot on the shoreline of Lake Cumberland in Monticello, Kentucky, is closing Thursday, Sept. 8, through Sunday, Sept. 11, during the Lake Cumberland Poker Run.
  • Corps of Engineers schedules Enbridge Line 5 EIS public meetings

    DETROIT– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting three public scoping meetings for Enbridge’s Line 5 Pipeline Tunnel project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) scoping process. The EIS’s 60-day scoping process began August 15 with the Notice of Intent (NOI) publishing in the Federal Register.
